After childbirth women drink a tea of Sphagneticola trilobata, venvenn kawayib, to contract the uterus and stop hemorrhage. chouvalyé wonzé (Portulaca pilosa) is sometimes added in making the tea. As a tisane, twef (Aristolochia constricta), go ponpon (Leonotis nepetaefolia) and hog plum bark (Spondias purpurea) are added.  Also as a tisane, this plant is used for cooling, sometimes with venvenn lache wat (Stachtarpheta spp.), and for inflammation when you pass blood.
