| Poaceae family Eragrostis airoides Nees in Fl. Bras. Enum. Pl. 2(1): 509-510. 1829. Naturalized herb of rocky dry soil. We found this species in a small quarry, part of the Praslin development, Mon Repos. Native to South America. Naturalized in Cuba, Texas and Saint Lucia. Possible seeds arrived on heavy equipment imported for the Le Paradis development at Praslin. No sign of becoming invasive as yet. See also Eragrostis cilianensis and Leptochloa fusca. |
