Indigenous rare woody vine of semi-open spots in deciduous and semi-evergreen seasonal forest, including roadsides.
St. Martin, Antigua, Saba, St. Eustatius, Montserrat, Guadeloupe, La Désirade, Marie Galante, Les Saintes, Dominica, Martinique, St. Lucia, Barbados, Greater Antilles, Virgin Islands, Tobago, Trinidad, South America.
Leaves are variable in appearance but the petiole usually has an elbow in it. Leaves dry black.
