Escaped/naturalized shrub of dry open areas around houses and the sea-shore. Common on Anse L'Ivrogne delta, Choiseul, otherwise rare. Cultivated and naturalized throughout tropics, of unknown origin. Also a cultivated ornamental. Herbal medicinal uses. Its presence on the lower slopes of Gros Piton is worrying - potentially invasive. |
